Toronto, Canada - December 18, 2024 - St. Joseph's Health Centre is seeking a qualified Storekeeper to join their growing Supply Chain team. This part-time permanent position offers a competitive salary range of CAD $26.68 - $29.25 per hour and plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the hospital by managing inventory levels and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities:

This position involves a variety of responsibilities, including receiving, unpacking, and storing a range of medical and surgical supplies. The Storekeeper will conduct regular inventory checks to maintain accurate stock levels and process purchase orders while coordinating with suppliers. Utilizing barcode scanning technology for efficient stock management is also a key aspect of this role. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment and may be required to assist with the delivery of vaccines in the community as part of the hospital's COVID-19 response. Excellent customer service skills are essential when interacting with staff.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent education and have a minimum of one year of recent Storekeeper/Inventory Control experience in a large organization. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in PCs and handheld barcode devices, are crucial. The ability to analyze data and retrieve information efficiently is also highly valued. A thorough understanding and adherence to storekeeping and inventory procedures are expected.

Physical demands of the job include the ability to lift up to 60 lbs (132 kg) and work in diverse temperature environments. Experience operating material handling equipment like manual and powered pump trucks is a plus. The successful candidate must demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with a team player mentality. Proven ability to build rapport with colleagues, patients, and staff is highly regarded. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required. Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy are paramount, and a reliable attendance record is expected.
