Job Overview
Compass Group Canada is hiring a skilled Part-Time Cook for the Hawthorn Woods Care Community. The role involves preparing food according to corporate standards and guidelines, ensuring quality food service for residents. Flexible shifts are available, including weekends, in a supportive environment that encourages professional growth and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation: Cook and pre-cook food following established guidelines.
- Mise en Place: Prepare and arrange food, garnishes, sauces, and other ingredients for high-volume production.
- Sanitation: Clean and maintain kitchen equipment according to health and safety standards.
- Storage and Labeling: Label, date, store, and rotate food and beverage products properly.
- Collaboration: Work with other departments and report maintenance issues.
- Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience as a restaurant cook or prep cook.
- Certification: Food Safety Certification and a recognized cooking school certificate are required.
- Skills: Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment. Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks associated with the position.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Week 1:
- Saturday Early Cook (6am-2pm)
- Sunday Early Cook (6am-2pm)
- Monday Late Cook (9:30am-5:30pm)
- Thursday Late Cook (9:30am-5:30pm)
Week 2:
- Monday Early Cook (6am-2pm)
- Thursday Late Cook (9:30am-5:30pm)
